Ruben Mardulier
Rubens' work is mainly expressed in short activations, videos, installations and performances with an absurd and self-evident character.
Ruben Mardulier (born 1993, Tienen) graduated from the Academy for Circus and Performance Art in Tilburg in 2015. In October 2016, Ruben and Michiel Deprez formed the artistic duo "Mardulier en Deprez (MenD)," exploring both themselves as circus artists and their immediate surroundings in an absurd way. The summer of 2022 marked the end of "MenD" and the beginning of a new artistic direction, in which Ruben continues to develop as a multimedia artist. Just as during the creative processes of "MenD," concepts emerge primarily from observation and dialogue. Creating circus is not a goal, but rather a recurring theme.
Milan Van Bortel, Mimi Wascher and Camille Paycha are established names as sounding boards and co-creators in Rubens' work.
