Cie Pol & Freddy
Bram Dobbelaere and Sander De Cuyper started Cie. Pol & Freddy in 2006. Over the years they have developed an international reputation for juggling performances, always original and surprising.
Bram Dobbelaere and Sander De Cuyper met one another the first time in 1999, at the circus atelier Woesh in Bruges. Bram was at that time a coördinator and Sander was one of the instructors. Their first creation together was entitled ‘Ready!’, a performance full of absurd humor and innovative juggling, built around a tiny car. They played ‘Ready!’ both indoors and outdoors in street-theater festivals, winning the Humorologie competition in 2007 and Public’s Prize at Mira Miro in 2008.
In 2013, together with fellow juggler Gab Bondewel, Sander and Bram launched ‘Le Cirque Démocratique de la Belgique’. This very funny research into the limits of democracy premiered in the spring of 2013 and played its last season in 2019. For their latest production ‘De Cuyper vs. De Cuyper’ Jordaan De Cuyper, Sander’s younger brother, has joined the company.
