Etymologically, the word vélocimane means “ whose hands move quickly.” In the 18th and 19th centuries, this term was used to refer to a juggler.
It is daft, delirious, edge-of-your-seat stuff.
Les Vélocimanes create, produce, and tour juggling performances. More precisely, we create performances by jugglers. In other words, even when juggling seems barely present in some of our creations, each piece still bears the mark of its authors, who define themselves first and foremost as jugglers. Our relationship with objects, at the core of our practice, is shaped by a wide range of manipulation techniques and the construction of sequences that form our singular style, even when our work departs from a more traditional vision of juggling.
