Central to this creation is the female body, concealing and revealing. Many questions are asked in connection with the exposure of the female body, where does the impending nude start? If a body is completely wrapped in cloth but you still have its silhouette, is it then present or absent?
Gedachtegang even asks more questions. What does covered in which culture mean? Who is visible? What is visible and how does the invisible influence what the viewer thinks? What ways are there to look at a body? The material or machine body, the cultural body, the sexual body, the forgotten body? Absent and present are core concepts in this research. But also the question of when something is absent. If a body is completely wrapped in cloth but you still have its silhouette, is it then present or absent?
